FAPA South Region Gives Back

FAPA South Region at a previous year’s toy drive

If you want some serious PA inspiration, then check out what Nicole Schtupak, the South Regional Director for the Florida Academy of PAs (FAPA), and her amazing team have been able to accomplish!

This year the team has organized another awesome toy drive for three Children’s Hospitals in south Florida! Local people can drop off unwrapped toys at the locations below! Those not local (or just don’t have the time) can submit a venmo payment! There has already been a huge show of support by amazing PAs like John Bielinski and his company CME4Life and I would love to see the Empowered PAs team join in as well!

Giving back to your community can be just one of many ways to help advocate for the Physician Assistant/Associate profession! This is just one of the many philanthropic events Nicole and her team has organized. These efforts are a great way for state PA associations to get their members involved, while also supporting their local communities and healthcare systems, and in this case, helping sick or ill children have something to smile about.

Please consider donating a toy if you are in Florida OR submitting a donation through Venmo or Paypal!

FAPA south region 4th annual toy drive has begun! November 15th through December 24th.

“Our toy drive benefits the THREE children’s hospitals in the tri-county area. In Miami-Dade, Miami Children’s, Joe DiMaggio in Broward County, and Palms West for Palm Beach County. Each year we have collected over 500 toys. Each year, the event has grown larger. So far this year we have received $500.00 in donations!!! One very special donation was from John Bielinski with CME4Life! So thankful for his generous donation. I hope you all caught his WORLD RECORD BREAKING lecture this past weekend. He did it! Broke the world record for the longest lecture. Congratulations John!! Thank you for the incredible support.

Also, if you have not caught Courtney Titus on EmpoweredPAs.com you have to check her out. She is one incredible PA, and her website/ blog site is filled with all sorts of information, regardless of where you are in your PA journey. You can also find information about the south region toy drive on her website: EmpoweredPAs.com Please reach out and support these two amazing PA leaders.

For the toy drive this year the south partnered with BSO fire department. ALL 20 BSO fire stations are drop off sites. Additionally, I was just notified that ALL of the Be Nice restaurant chains in Fort Lauderdale will also be collecting toys for the FAPA south region and agreed to be drop-off locations! Making it unbelievably easy to donate. The Be Nice Restaurant Chain addresses are listed below. They informed me of their interest after the initial flier was made. We are SO grateful for their help, so stop in for a delicious bite to eat/drink and bring your toy for a donation!
